About Us
A community organization built around one idea: no child should be unsafe.
We are a registered Community-Based Organization working in Nairobi, Kenya, dedicated to child protection, shelter, and family support.
Our Mission
To give every vulnerable child in Nairobi a safe home, a protective family, and a real chance at a healthy childhood.
Kenya ChildSafe Homes Initiative (Charity ID: SCSD/EMB/E/CBO/1/10/2023/0013) is a registered Community-Based Organization operating in Nairobi. We exist because too many children in our community face abuse, neglect, or the loss of a stable home — and because we believe every one of them deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to grow up in a caring family.
Our work sits at the intersection of emergency response and long-term prevention: we care for children who need shelter right now, while also training families and communities to keep the next child from ever needing us.
Our Story
How we got here
Editor's note: replace the milestones below with your organization's real founding story and dates before publishing.
A community responds
Kenya ChildSafe Homes Initiative began as a response to a clear, local need: children in our community facing unsafe home situations with nowhere safe to turn.
Becoming a registered organization
We formalized as a Community-Based Organization to work properly alongside local authorities, ensuring every placement and case follows proper child protection procedure.
Expanding our programs
Our work grew from direct shelter into family reunification support, education assistance, and community-wide child protection training.
Joining Google for Nonprofits
We're building our digital presence so more families, donors, and volunteers in Nairobi and beyond can find and support our work.
